About Waste Warriors - Dharamsala in Behind Ravine Hotel, Dharamsala

We run door-to-door waste collections, distribute and empty dustbins, run regular clean-up hikes, keep communities clean and collect waste from popular trekking destinations. Education is paramount so we organize educational Children’s Days and are actively working with schools and educational establishments so that that the next generation has the knowledge and the know-how to ensure that their local communities become clean and stay clean.

India has a massive garbage problem but it’s an issue that can be resolved. We are working with individuals, municipalities, schools and businesses helping them to manage their waste and improve their local communities.

Our founder Jodie Underhill has a vast array of experience of working with waste both in India and the UK after founding the organisation Mountain Cleaners in April 2009. Our waste workers are experienced, hard working and dedicated and we believe in paying them a fair wage. One of our official objectives is to improve conditions for people who work with waste.
