But -welding is a method, which is used to join pipes and fittings of the same diameter and wall thickness. But welding for different wall thicknesses, you should use the adapter which both ends have different wall thicknesses. In this process, the contact faces of the components are planed so that a perfect contact is achieved, and then heated to the melting temperature, and then melted contact faces are joint under pressure. Welding pressure, temperature and time is adjusted so that the physical and chemical properties of the original material are retained.
A good quality butt -welded joint assures that the joint strength is the same as valid for the original pipe itself. And in order to achieve a good quality joint, welding parameters (temperature, pressure and time) should be adjusted carefully. It is provided here that how these parameters are calculated, and you will find the pre -calculated values for different wall thickness pipes in the appendix, in order to obtain a good quality joint, you should obey these values.
