we, the ACTIVE BICYCLERS ASSOCIATION (ABA), are group of youth actively engaged in promoting cycling as a pride with environmental and health consciousness. Launched on 09-09-09 and registerd whith the Andhra Pradesh government (registrations department ) in 2010, ABA is also affiliated to Nehru Yuva Kendra, Vijayawada (Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Government of India) and Krishna Dstrict Youth Welfare Department (Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Yout services).
Our motto is to promote cycling and walking among people of all age groups and from all sections, so that they would protect and promote their own health and save the nature from motor pollution besides conserving fuel, ultimately resulting in protection of environment. Considering that our strengths are limited to encourage many individuals, we are trying to draw the attention of the state and cintral (Union) Governments so as to spread the massage fast, effectively and purposeflly.
The idea originated when its founder Mr.V.Satyanarayana took part in many trekking missions nationwide organised by the Youth Hostels Association of India. He also partcipated in the 200 Km Adventurous cycling organised by the YHAI in Leh, Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmr in August-September, 2007. This was the yatra that proveded inspiration for start of the cycling mission. He was one of the participants in the 108-member adventurous cycling mission organised from Kulu-Manali to South Pole via Rohtang Pass and Leh covering 600 Km, going up 17500 feet height. These were the missions that inspired him to take up promition of cycling as a pride among the young generation. With the above mintioned objectives, we have conducted many cycling missions involving students, youths and some VIPs.
We have been persuading the State and Union governments to make cycling a part of their events, including anniversaries and other functions, in schools and colleges and other educational and academic institutions, We are hopeful of succeeding.
Nationa Mission:
Our mission is to spred the cycle for health message while also learning and experiencing the variety things at different places in the country. All through our journey, we convey and explain our appeals to the local offcials with a request to take up the movement. join the mivement and support the mivement.
Our new mission is to cycle from Kanyakumari to Kashmir (Srinagar, Jammu &Kashmir), thus covering the entire country.
Considering the destance, financial constraints and seasonal issues, we diveded the mission into four phases---viz Vijayawada to delhi for 30 days from December 29.12.2010 to January 28.01.2011. Vijayawada to Kanyakumari from 01.07.2011 to 22.07.2011, Vijayawada to Bangalor-Goa, 19.09.2011 to 07.10.2011 and Jammu to Delhi 27.10.2011 to 16.11.2011 completed successfully.
In the first phase, which was successfully completed with the participation of 33 (Excluding nine tour assistants ) enthusiastic youths, most of them students, we were able to spread the cycle for health chcle for better environment slogan across Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Predesh, Uttar Pradesh, Fajasthan and Delhi. The programmewas flagged off by mr.Peeyush Kumar, collector and destrict magistrate, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. The cyclists met many VIPs all along government officials extended an lot of support and encouragement by proveiding us accommodation and other support wherever required. The interest shown by schools and colleges in our mission doubled ou spirit.
The second phase of our cycle India mission will commence from Vijayawada to Kanyakumari, This time, the participation has gone up and the number touched 40 by now. we are expecting a few more additions in the weeks to come. Most of those enrolling are students from the Nagarjuna University (Guntur district) under the Adventure sports programme of the University Grants Commission.
This time, we will be covering Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu state , Union Territory of Puducherry (Ponducherry).
The third mission Vijayawada to bangalrGoa 19.09.2011 to 07.10.2011, And Finaly Jammu to Delhi 27.10.2011 to 16.11.2011. cover Jammu, Amritsar, Wagah border, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Delhi (Jammu&Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana States, Union Territory of Chandigarh and National capital Delhi).
Compilation of experiences, responses
We are planning to compile our experiences and the respnse from the people, government agencices and all sections of the society to our cycle for health mission toward the end of the year 2011, after all four phases of the covering Kanyakumari to Kashmir are completed. To be fully transprent and acoountable, we will recore every contribution/ donation and expenditure datails in the book.

Our mission withe social commitment and long vision involves a lot of investment.we solicit support from organisations and philanthropists to reach our goal.
Apart from any number local programmes for brief durations involving students and youth and colleges and schools, we are also condidering making two big programs of at least ten days each every calendar year from now on. This can be within one state or covering multple states, We also solicit you kind coo[eration for these programs on a permannt basis
