The Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering was started in the academic year 1999 – 2000. This discipline is unique, featuring courses of both Computer Science Engineering and Electronics Engineering The department has eminent faculty from both areas to equip the students with the current technological trends. The department has its own significant student organization named ESSENCE, which acts as forum for students to present their skills, both technical and non-technical.

The Department has a well equipped Embedded Systems Lab and a Research and Development wing. Apart from this, the department also has a computer centre that is equipped with state-of-art computer system. The Department stands tall with the latest achievements its students have made. To mention some ,the percentage of students selected for the on-campus jobs offered by Satyam, CTS, Wipro, TCS,INFOSYS, DSL Technologies, ADP, HCL, Caritor, Slash Support, Oracle, Igate, Accenture, Resonance, Holdings etc Besides academics, The Department also excelled in sports and other extra-curricular activities.

The Department has organized Workshops on Embedded Systems, Mobile Making, Android, Ethical Hacking. A National Level Technical Workshop Thrusang is conducted by the department every year since 2010. A Lot of technical symposiums were conducted in association with professional bodies like CSI, IEEE, IETE and government agencies like DST, AICTEC, UGC for the benefit of students
