Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA) is a community of dedicated minds drawn from a broad range of disciplines.

With the enthusiastic and vibrant approach to environmental, social and developmental affairs, the CISSA team has created its own niche at international level in a short span.

It ceaselessly carries out debates and actions to address the pressing needs of the modern era with their outstanding and empiric visions, valuable time and abundant ideas.

The organization is also committed to unseal the inner eye of society to observe the consequences caused by the insensitive practices of the society in the areas of health, agriculture, environment and culture.

CISSA has 20 founder members consisting of doctors, engineers, scientists, teachers, social workers, policy makers etc who have the right and positive vision upon the world.

Besides this nuclear number, many more like minded people are working voluntarily with CISSA both directly and indirectly.

Cissa : The Beginning:

-Dr. G.G. Gangadharan, President of CISSA who is Medical Director,Institute of Ayurveda and Integrated Medicine, FRLHT, Bengaluru formally inaugurated CISSA at Thiruvananthapuram on September 16, 2006.

-He highlighted the need and outlined the philosophy behind such an organization in the modern globalized world to overcome a number of peril circumstances.

-General Secretary of CISSA Dr. C. Suresh Kumar, explained the evolution of thoughts, concepts and action that are being gathered together in establishing CISSA.

-The organization has a vast volunteer network in the state and it works in close association with leading international, national and local NGOs and other related agencies.

-It maintains a high degree of integrity and responsibility in all activities. Various programmes of CISSA collect audience in galore and are accepted by all classes of society.

-The programmes like Annam, Biodiversity Congress, Global Ayurveda Festival, and other workshops, exhibitions and seminars have been organized uniquely by CISSA and also in association with like minded agencies and people at the regional, national and international levels including the Government of Kerala, Government of India and UN agencies like UNCBD.

-Also it has stretched initiatives in favour of traditional food & health practices and clean technologies.

-Reinventing the native strengths is a core area and the early phase of CISSA was centered on organizing events related to them.

-Now we are entering the next phase with concrete action plans at the grass roots.
