About Yarn - Tales in Thread in 15/755 (1), P.R.A. 25, Shobha Nivas, Cottonhill, Thiruvananthapuram

At Yarn, we believe that every saree, every piece of jewellery and every pair of footwear that you buy has a tale to tell. Working intimately with artisans, designers and weavers, from Auroville in Puducherry to Srirampur in West Bengal, we bring you the forgotten, the rarely heard and the most enchanting tales of India in the form of our products. By buying products from us, you forge a connection with those whose efforts have gone into its creation, a connection woven in thread.

Our Products:

Sarees
We bring you a wide variety of sarees from across India including Pashmina silk sarees from Kashmir; Mangalgiri sarees from Andhra Pradesh; Chanderi silk from Madhya Pradesh; Matka silk from West Bengal; Eri Silk sarees from Assam and Kanjeevaram cotton sarees from Tamil Nadu for starters.

Jewellery
Initially a name given to a tribal sect of metal craftsmen, Dokra jewellery is found predominantly in the tribal belts of Orissa, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh. Our necklaces, bangles and earrings come in captivating folk and tribal motifs.
We have on offer Bell Metal jewellery that comes with a tinge of silver in designs ranging from traditional Kerala motifs to Bijapur tribal patterns.

Footwear
Yarn offers two varieties of footwear- the exquisitely designed Kalamkari and the Puducherry leather variant.

Yarn has begun its journey on January 19th, 2012; a new year filled with much hope and promise, a year that will see the London Olympics, the end of the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises and Sachin Tendulkar’s hundredth ton. So here’s wishing you a very prosperous and peaceful new year.

We thank everyone who took time to come for our inauguration.
