About Cardamom County in Muthoot Cardamom County, Thekkadi
Cardamom County’s location across the street from the Periyar Tiger Reserve makes it a perfect “Learning Laboratory” for interns and trainees interested in conservation tourism.The National Park is designated as one of the most biodiverse areas of the world. Between Cardamom County and the Periyar Tiger Reserve we've created a model of social entrepreneurship 'incubator' involving and empowering the local community, providing people with jobs that enhance the community so they don't have to resort to extractive practices for their livelihood.
Cardamom County also has an organic farm on site that is being developed into a full farm-to-table production for multiple Muthoot Group properties. We're currently working using efficient agriculture techniques such as square foot gardening, companion planting, and having an overall focus of "planting the menu."
