About Junoon Foundation in , Thane

Vision:

Junoon aims to spread happiness and prosperity in the society through education, social awareness and sustainable development.

Mission:

Education: To impart life skills and soft skills, provide career guidance and encourage the love of arts and sports among children.

Social Awareness: To spread awareness regarding good health, hygiene, social responsibilities, tolerance and unity.

Sustainable Development: To spread awareness towards sustainable agriculture, environmental well-being, energy savings, conservation of natural resources and other ecological measures.

Junoon started its journey in April 2013. The first programme, a tree plantation drive, was organised in June 2013. In its short journey of three years, Junoon has tried to touch as many lives as possible. In the months of Monsoon leading to winter, educational workshops were conducted in two schools from Wada and Bhiwandi taluka under its flagship programme, Ummid.

Currently Ummid is running successfully in a residential school called Gunj Ashram Shala in Wada taluka. Junoon volunteers go to the school every Sunday to conduct lectures, teach computer skills, sports, hygiene, etc. Junoon has also started a book bank at the school to inculcate the habit of reading among children. The career counseling sessions for 10th and 12th standards are also in the pipeline.

Junoon had launched a donation drive on the occasion of Independence Day. It managed to collect a lot clothes and school stationery. The same were distributed among the children of a small village in Wada called Ujjaini Akhada. Another donation drive for sports equipment and stationery was arranged on Republic Day for the Gunj Ashram Shala. The response was overwhelming at that time too.
