Thanevaibhav is a daily Marathi newspaper of Thane district. It was founded by Late Mr. Narendra Ballal in 1975. Over four decades we have played a pivotal role in covering news and events of the biggest district of the country. Due to which it has become mouthpiece of lakhs of Thaneites. The present editor of Thanevaibhav is Mr Milind Ballal assisted by Executive Editor Nikhil Ballal.
Thanevaibhav is a leader in giving political, government, crime and social news of Thane district. Apart from news, Thanevaibhav is also into Corporate social responsibility. We conduct many programs for school students especially living in rural areas. Thanevaibhav has started a newspaper exclusively for students. This newspaper is called balbvaibhav .Here the students contribute news, stories, poetries and all the content by their own. This has helped to augment the reading and writing skills of over 10,000 students studying in 22 schools. Thanevaibhav is gradually spreading this project in other 14 talukas of district.
Also from past 40 years, Thanevaibhav is organising a cricket tournament for companies and industries. Every year new companies participate in this coveted tournament. Our efforts have helped many workers and employees to showcase their talent and reach to the next level.
Thanevaibhav caters to women readers to a great extent. We conduct many events for womens which helps to recognize their talent. Some of them are Durga Utsav during Navratri, Stree Shakti in Makarsankrant and Suvarna Dhamaka during Gudi padwa and Akshaytrutiya. Many females participate in this competition. These events are supported by the leading retailers operating in Thane and Mumbai.
When world is becoming global we are being more local or in other words hyper local. We have started coming up with supplements of small areas of Thane city. Through these supplements we endeavour to showcase the local talent, news and events happening in gullies. Some of the supplements we came up with are Vartaknagar Plus, Uthalsar Plus, Kopri plus and there many such ‘plus’ supplements in pipeline. Every Sunday we come up with these supplements. They have gathered tremendous response in nick of time.
Thanevaibhav's objective has always been to meet the media needs of local populace. We have successfully done this and would continue to work on the same. Our approach has helped us to become popular and reach to a good circulation over the years.
