About Atmikha - Promoting Healthy Mind in Ex-police line, Tezpur

Poor Mental health creates negative consequences for the concern person, the family caring for the person and the community at large. This often leads to many difficulties in the personal, social and economics roles of the individual and the family as well.
The issue of stigma and discrimination also add to the problem of individual and their families in their everyday lives, affecting their chances of leading a full and dignified life.
Considering the condition, it was felt that a system of care service should come forward where the treatment simply don’t limit to only psychiatric treatment but also considering Psycho social Rehabilitation.

Therefore , keeping the above situation in mind we came up with the idea of forming an NGO called ATMIKHA , through which we focuses primarily on Community Mental Health and aims at supporting the people with mental illness, also that are marginalized deprived and discriminated.
