Birbhum Disrict Sport Association was eastablished in the year 1941 organizes games and sports throughout the district of Birbhum . Three sub-divisional sports association are there under Birbhum DSA. The three sub-divisional sports association are SURI , BOLPUR , RAMPURHAT.

INFRASTRUCTURE :

Birbhum DSA has its own well compact and ideal infrastructure for sports and games . It has a play ground , a indoor stadium , a swimming pool , a multi gym in a compact area as like as a sports complex . A good number of players are improving themselves in different sports and games like cricket , football , volleyball , athletics , swimming , badminton , body building etc by using the infrastructure of Birbhum DSA in these days.


ACTIVITIES :

CRICKET

Birbhum has performed very well in various tournament of C.A.B last year ( 2011-12)

1 . Inter Dist U-14 Cricket Not Qualified to 2nd phase
2 Inter Dist U- 16 Cricket Runner – up
3 Inter Dist U-19 Cricket Runner – up
4 Dattu Phadkar Trophy Runner – up
5 S.P. Hazra Trophy Semi finalist
6 Senior Inter District Not Qualified to 2nd phase



Birbhum DSA has organized various cricket tournament in 2011-12 as previous years under the care of CAB which are as follows ----

1. U-16 inter sub-division cricket - Three sub-divisions participated

2. Inter School Tournament - 12 schools participated

3. Senior Inter club Championship - Sub- divisional level has completed
Final pool will be organized in next month



A unique cricket coaching camp is going on through out the year successfully.
Mr Prabal Ghosh , former Ranji player has been appointed as a coach for the coaching camp . Subhasis Debangshi and Barun Monadal and Atanu Ghosh has also been appointed as coach in cricket camp in Rampurhat and Bolpur Sub-division.

Birbhum DSA has organized exhibition cricket match between BANGLADESH and CAB XI ( u-16) successfully and got a appreciation from CAB for smooth and successful conduct of the above said games.





We have also conducted various age group tournament of CAB in the ground of Birbhum DSA. CAB Dist. Umpire Workshop has been organized in Birbhum this year . Mr, Francis Gomes and Premdip Chatterjee conducted over the workshop successfully .


Our proud , Shubhrajit Das and Anjanava Saha has been selected for the U-16 Bengal team in 2011-12 . Our dist. Players who were selected for the Bengal team previously are
as follows

1. Sumanta Gupta - U- 16 and U-19 Bengal team

2. Subham Som PAL - U-14 Bengal team

3 Rahul Mondal - U-14 Bengal team


Birbhum District Sports Association organizes a very glorious prize distribution ceremony every year.

Birbhum Dist, Sports Association also arrange a blood donation camp on Frank – Worrell Day under the care of CAB.

FOOTBALL


we also organizee footbal under the care of IFA . we participate inter district football of various age group every year . IFA`s football coaching camp in our district running successflly . But the performance of our district in football is not so good .We are trying to improve ourselves in this sector by taking various activities.


VOLLEYBALL

we have both boys and girls voleyball district team ... participate in inter district volleyball every year . We organize district inter club and inter subdivision voleyball tournament and also arrenge voleeyball coaching camp for both boys and girls .


AATHLETICS

District athletic meet done every year successfully after completion of sub-divisional arthletic meet . Our district participate in State Athletic Meet .
