ETMA Tourist Resort is anticipated to generate employment for various sectors of the society involved in tourist activities directly or indirectly. It will require a capital expenditure of Rs 720 Crores for carrying out various developmental activities in addition to cost of 722 Crores for acquisition of land. Directly it will create job opportunity which will involve wide range of skilled professionals, semi-skilled and unskilled labours. In aggregate about 5.50 Lacs man days of job opportunities would be created which is likely to benefit the economy of the State. In addition once the Tourist Resort becomes operational, it would generate permanent employment opportunities for about 1480 persons including professionals, semi skilled persons and unskilled persons. The resort is also likely to boost the Handicraft Industry and is likely to add 2.00 lac artisans in Handicraft Industry. It will also create 1.50 lacs man days for taxi drivers for ferrying the tourists and 1.25 lac man days for Shikarawals. In addition the resort is likely to involve several other sectors and generate further momentum in the economy of the State and benefit the persons involved in tourism. The estimates of job opportunities and economic benefits have been worked out on the assumptions of 100 day tourist season with a total target tourist of 2.8 Lacs by the Resort initially. The targeted tourists is likely to double within five years once the tourist resort is complete in all respects which will further have cumulative/multiplier effects on the tourist trade and the economy of the State.
