About Gandhi Memorial College in Shamaswari, Khankahi Moulla, Srinagar

Gandhi Memorial College, a multi faculty co-educational Institution, was established in 1942 to carter the educational needs of the interior localities of Srinagar City.The college is guarded by three Great Saints of the Valley.In the north by Sheikh Hamza Makdoom(R.A).In the west by Shahi Hamdan (R.A).From south east there is Mangleshwar Temple,a great worship place of our Hindu brethren.The College is affiliated to the University of Kashmir & U.G.C has a long history at its back.Starting from a rented house ,the college now has a huge main building,besides two other buildings for the purpose of teaching and conducting various other academic programmes in these buildings.
The college has produced scientists of great eminence, doctors and engineers of great repute,who this time are forming the top crest of society both at State and National level.
