About Gymkhana Union Body, NIT Silchar in NIT Silchar, Silchar

As with all educational institutes in India NIT Silchar has its "Students Union Body" known as GYMKHANA STUDENTS UNION BODY. The members of the GYMKHANA UNION BODY are elected by all the students of the institute. The GYMKHANA works under the able guidance of the Dean(Students Welfare) and faculty advisers of the different offices. The office bearers are responsible for organizing and coordinating different events for the all round personality developments of the students. The GYMKHANA takes the initiative for organizing the annual college cultural festival INCANDESCENCE and technical festival TECNOESIS along with Freshers, and many other cultural events like SPARK, BAND WAGON, DRAMA COMPETITION, LITERARY WEEK etc. and sports events like NIGHT CRICKET TOURNAMENT, BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT, INDOOR SPORTS WEEK, FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT, TENNIS, VOLLEYBALL, KABADDI TOURNAMENTS etc. through out the year. The main motive of the GYMKHANA is to work with dedication for the welfare of the students and believes in the motto
