About EIMI Students' Union in , Shillong

The Eimi Students Union of St. Anthony’s College came into existence in the year 2004 formed

by the Third Year students of the academic session 2004-05. They formed the Union with a vision to

foster better understanding and relationship among the Eimis of the college. The founding members of

this Union are as follows:

Treasurer : Florence Khongsai

The Union comprises of UG students of St.Anthony’s College belonging to the tribes: Chin,

Thadou, Vaiphei, Paite, Gangte, Kom, Hmar, Simte and Zou. This Union stand by the Motto “Learn,

Fraternity and Unity”. The main objective of the Union is to enhance unity and fraternity in the process

of learning to nurture individuals to be responsible and dedicated members of the Union and the

The Fist Picnic of the Union was organised in the month of August, 2004 by a small group of

students. Since then picnic has always played an important role in bringing the Eimis together. Over

years the Union has grown bigger and stronger with responsible executives and dedicated members.

Apart from the picnic i.e. freshers and farewell picnic, the Union also organises condolences

programmes and visitation of the unwell Eimi students of the College.

Many changes have been witnessed in the Union over the years as the Union is always welcome

to change for good. The Union has always strived for the betterment and will continue to do so. By

sheer effort of the ESU Alumni, our Union stand strong and shall ever more if we continue to keep up

the legacy given to us.
