About Revdanda Beach in Alibaug, Revdanda

The ruins of the Revdanda Fort are a reminder of the Portuguese rule in India. A seven-story tower and the fortification walls are what remain of the original fort. There is an ancient chapel within the forts premises from where St. Francis Xavier gave one of his first sermons in India. The best views of the fort are from the Revdanda beach or from the Revdanda- Salav Bridge, which links Murud and Alibag. Parts of the Revdanda town are located within the fort and there are betel nut plantations that have taken over the area surrounding the fort. As you walk along the walls of the fort, you will see the Korlai fort at a distance.
