About Government First Grade College for Women, Ramanagara in Rayaradoddi, Magadi Road, Ramanagar

It was envisaged as an important step in the goal of equity and inclusiveness. Set in pristine surroundings with the back drop of waving coconut palms, the college provides a calm and serene environment for the pursuit of academics.

Since inception, about 1000 students in 3 batches have graduated from this fledgling institution. In addition to fruitful academic accomplishments by means of seminars and projects, students gain experience in extra curricular activities like NSS, sports etc., for a more holistic development of their personalities. With a majority of rural students having limited exposure to the competitive world, this college aims to provide an intellectually stimulating campus environment. We see raw, diffident girls who enter the portals of this institution emerge like chrysalis into mature and confident young women, ready to face the world and to further academic accomplishments and rewarding careers.

Upholding the college motto which believes that Education leads to Liberation, the college ensures quality education to its women students. Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye, is the underlying motto with which the college functions. It ensures that the students are not only educated but are also liberated through education. Education frees them from the ties of ignorance, superstition, caste, creed, religion and gender, liberating them into free and thinking individuals. Thus they become self dependent and self reliant. The college does not merely equip them to face examinations but also leads them towards leading successful and meaningful lives becoming valuable citizens of the country.

The college is currently housed in its new building at Rayaradoddi. With new grants being released, construction work for expansion has begun and the college is looking forward to greater infrastructural facilities in the near future. Future projections put this college as a leading center to transform students to join the stream of young talented individuals who form the youth power of India.
