About Mandarin & Mircchi in Unit no 11, Ishanya Mall, Shastri Nagar, Pune - 411006, Pune

After launching three successful brands in Pune (The Sassy Spoon, Sassy Teaspoon and Baraza Bars & Bites) The Chocolate Spoon Co. Pvt Ltd brings to Pune a brand new concept Mandarin & Mircchi.

This brand was created with the idea of offering foodies two of the most popular cuisines for dining out in India : Pan-Asian and Indian. Mandarin & Mircchi gives guests a choice of both individual palates
.
This uniquely designed eighty+ seater is spread over approx.1800 square feet and has used intricate origami extensively as a signature décor element. Beautiful origami lampshades illuminate the restaurant. Two origami murals depicting India and China have been beautifully created out of satin and paper on two large walls at either end of the space. A beautiful peacock and a fiery dragon represent the cuisines that will be served here. The ambience is warm and inviting with simple restaurant style seating and brick undertones to add to the casual, stylish vibe.

"An Indian and an Asian restaurant were both in the pipeline for us and then we decided to combine both the cuisines into one restaurant. After several brainstorming sessions with our ad agency did we finally find a name that truly reflected the cuisines and vibe we wished to convey, and thus Mandarin & Mircchi came about. The thought was to offer the finest dishes of two of the most popular cuisines (Asian and Indian) in the same restaurant, from specially differentiated kitchens," says Rachel Goenka, Founder, Mandarin & Mircchi.

Head Chef, Pune, Gautum Samel, Executive Chef, Amit Bhatia and Restaurateur & CEO Rachel Goenka have come together and curated a delicious menu with dishes such as Sweet and Sour Chicken, Crispy Prawn Chueng Fun, Dal Makhani, Mutton Pepper Fry, Rabadi Mousse, amongst others, while Chef & Director Irfan Pabaney has added his inputs.

The menu is pocket friendly and ensures value for money. While food is something one must look forward to, the beverage menu (designed by in-house Mixologist Pranav Mody), has a lot to offer too. Drinks like Green Fizz ( non-alcoholic), M&M Mary ( non-alcoholic & alcoholic), Paan BanarasiWalla ( non-alcoholic & alcoholic), Berry Bunny (alcoholic), Gingerbread Man ( alcoholic ), etc. will be fun combinations to sip on while enjoying your meal.

Chef Gautam Samel has worked at The Sassy Spoon outlets in Mumbai for over 2 years and is the head chef for Pune. He has been an integral part of the menu curation. His previous experience working at Indigo, Yauatcha and Hakkasan in Mumbai and Buddha Bar and Aqua Kyoto in London have stood him good stead. He says, "The menu is specially crafted with recipes developed keeping in mind the best of the Asian cuisine preferred in India, as well as a variety of the tastiest Indian food from across the country."

Mandarin and Mircchi is set to open on 16th August 2017.
