About Friends Fish Farm in , Perumbavoor

We are the first farm in India which successfully bread arowna in captivity. We have more than 17 years of experience in scientific and hygienic breeding, hatching and rearing of fishes. We have good quality brood stocks and technically experienced staffs and skilled labours.The farm was started in 1995 culturing ornamental fishes. Now we expanded in to 10 hectors of earthen ponds in Keezhillam, Ponjassery and Arakkuzha. We have 3 large breeding units each has more than 4000 square feet indoor area with well equipped modern laboratory and are scientifically designed with financial and technical support of Marine Products Export Development Authority of India (M P E D A)

We helps more than 5 other breeding units by giving technical support , supply and marketing of fish and gives support to many new comers in the field. We have a goodhearted communication almost all ornamental fish farmers in Kerala.

The earthen ponds were marshy lands, without any agricultural activities for many years and were breeding centers of mosquitoes and other insects which create health hazards. These lands are scientifically treated and protected with plastic nets in all four sides and top protecting the fishes from predators and other animals. Small canals are constructed for the entrance and exit of fresh water. Water flow is regulated throughout the land by pipes and canal system. After every harvest the land is dewatered and allowed to dry in sun light and treated to make it suitable for next harvest. We breed almost all the popular ornamental fishes

Friends fish farm is strategically located globally. It is 18 KM away from Kochi international airport which is 3 hours flight distant from Singapore, the global head of Fish Industry.

The farm is situated at keezhillam along MC road, 6 KM from Perumbavoor town. It is 20 KM away from Aluva and Angamaly railway station and 40 km away from Cochin port.

We mainly breeds, varieties of, gold, koi carp, gowramies,tiger shark, rainbow shark, succor fishes, cat fishes and ofcouse arowna (silver), varieties of cichlids like discuss,angels,Oscars,severums,convict cichlids, red devils, green terror, flower horn, green chromium, yellow chromium, not in very future we may breeding indigenous fishes like denisony channa stratus and merilius.
