The Institute of cost Accountants of India (ICAI) was established under a special Act of Parliament in 1959 with an objective of educating, developing and regulating the Cost and Management Accounting profession in India.

Patnai chapter is the only chapter in Bihar engaged in fulfilling the objectives of ICAI.It has been organizing compulsory coaching classes for the students of ICAI and organizing seminars, workshop,evening talks etc for the professional developments of its members.
