About ATMA Patiala in Near Railway Crossing No. 20, Chotti Barandari, Patiala

ATMA Scheme was launched in Patiala district during the second phase of “Extension Reforms Scheme” in the year 2005-2006. The society was duly registered with DIC with honorable Deputy Commissioner as chairman and Chief Agriculture officer as member Secretary-cum-Project Director of ATMA Governing Board.
The first Project Director was Dr. Kesar Singh Panag upto 29/8/2005 followed by second Project Director Dr. Balwinder Singh Sohal upto 4/9/2009 and afterwards Third Project Director Dr. Subhash Chander Khurana upto 31/3/2011. At present Mr. Vikas Garg (IAS) Deputy Commissioner, Patiala is Chairman of Governing Board ATMA and Dr. Rajinder Singh Sohi is Project Director of ATMA Scheme from 15/4/2011 onwards.
The main emphasis is given on “bottom up approach” under which skills of needful farmers are being upgraded via Trainings, Exposure visits as well as demonstrations (details are available under Cafetaria)
