Sangeet Sharma is a practicing architect in Chandigarh. He is a partner in SD Sharma & Associates, a well-known firm of the region founded by his father Ar. SD Sharma, an eminent Architect, who worked with Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in Chandigarh. Widely acknowledged and awarded Ar. Sangeet Sharma commands an undisputed international reputation in profession. Carrying forward the legacy and vocabulary established by his father he is fascinated by geometrical forms. By looking at every drawn line as built spaces he follows a certain rationale to his reflective practice. His buildings are based on sustainable applications.

He is a multifaceted personality. He is a poet, Architectural critic, writer, artist and author. He has authored Architecture, Life and Me, published by Rupa and Co., a memoir that takes an all-round view of the profession.

He promotes Chandigarh architecture in particular and sustainable architecture in general through his foundation called “A3 Foundation”.

A3 Foundation is an organization promoting sustainable architecture in India and in the vicinity. With the combine association and efforts of fellow professionals, students, educational institutions and other professional bodies A3 Foundation surges ahead to form an organization devoted to the promotion of sustainable art and architecture.

Through the medium of seminars, conferences, group discussions and other allied system of education the foundation is active in multidimensional growth of the profession.

The foundation works by putting up exhibitions of the architects, holding workshops, institutions and school of architecture including arranging talks of various eminent architects. Effectively it will work by documenting, planning providing regional area consultancy, education and distribution of knowledge in the subject.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To hold seminars, conferences and group discussions to discuss and further the cause of sustainability in profession.

2. To uphold and uplift the professional understanding by a constant dialogue and discussion in professional of various related fields.

7. To build a “Think Tank” for development of society.

8. To inspire and encourage the Third World countries to particularly participate and understand the necessity of sustainability in the profession of art and architecture.

9. To publish Books / Journals and other material for wide circulation.

10. To prepare a library for reference and record.

11. To award the deserving students and other professionals pursuing the purpose of sustainability and architecture of aesthetics.

12. To organize workshops in various colleges and schools of architecture and organize events to promote the above mentioned aspects.

13. To organize talks by eminent architects and related professionals to promote the cause of our noble profession.

14. To organize competitions in the schools of architecture.
