About The Fogg in Mauza Jaitak, Jamta, Nahan

The Fogg is located in Sirmour District of Himachal Pradesh within 4 hours reach from New Delhi, 1 hour from Ambala and 30 mins from Kala Amb. Grand View resort and the historical Jaitak Fort are within a short walking distance. The Renukaji lake, Giri river & Lion safari are a short drive of 30 minutes.

The Fogg includes four bedrooms. Three rooms directly face the Nahan valley through large bay windows and one room faces Churdhar Peaks. There is a washing machine, four flat screen televisions with satellite cable, dining area, living room area, modern barbecue station, fully equipped kitchen, books and games.

The property is cared by housekeeper who will always be available to clean and maintain the property during any guest stay.

We do all our own cooking on site, and would encourage our guests to bring their food and drink from Nahan and cook it in the fully operational Kitchen and barbecue. The staff will be able to source some limited ingredients locally, as well as vegetables from our own kitchen garden. We do keep Beers, Cokes, milk, butter, and food basics on site (herbs, oil, rice, pasta, dal etc) which will be charged to you at the end of your stay at the local retail rates.

If you would like us to arrange for meals to be cooked on site, we will need a minimum 1 week's notice. A word of warning - the food will be fairly basic : rice, dal, local vegetable, fish & chicken curries, chapattis.

The Neighborhood

Jamta village is sparsely populated and the only people you can hope to see would be the local villagers. Once at the venue we would encourage you to take nature walks and explore the surrounding local area.

If you you are in good physical condition you can consider a trek upto Jaitak Fort. The fort is believed to have been constructed out of the material which was recovered from the destroyed and devastated Nahan Fort in 1810. The Gurkha leader Ranjor Singh Thapa and his men had attacked and ransacked Nahan fort and Palace and constructed this majestic Jaitak fort atop the Jaitak hill. Its location affords a breathtaking view of the surrounding beauty.

Just a short walk from the property is the Grand View resort where you can enjoy Saturday night open air movies (seasonal, please confirm with resort), a variety of cuisines in the restaurant, a bar, board games, gymnasium, table tennis, billiards, swimming pool (available upon prior request).

The town of Renukaji is towards the interiors and is a drive of 30 minutes from Jamta. The place offers a variety of activities including boating at the sacrosanct Renuka lake, several temples around the area, a zoo around the lake, access to the river Giri and food and beverages at Hotel Renuka.

Getting Around

Car parking is available.
Buses to Nahan and Renuka pass by the house but these are state owned buses and may not be the quickest or most comfortable option.
