About Infant Jesus Church - P.N.Colony, Nagercoil in Ponnappa Nadar Colony, Nagercoil

The concept of building an Infant Jesus church in Ponnapa Nadar Colony, (Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District, India) came about due to the large number of Catholics in the colony. A few like minded people formed a group and had their first meeting at Servite Convent. A committee was formed under the direction of Fr. Yesu Rathnam who was then the parish priest of Holy Family Church. The committee then planned to procure a piece of land. The idea was presented to the Bishop and the request for a new parish was met favorably. After that everybody pitched in and the committee started raising funds. The church is now in its initial stages of construction and masses are held in a temporary chapel nearby. We hope you will visit us and lend your support and encouragement.
