On the 1st of July, Mumbai saw the founding of The Drama School, Mumbai: India’s answer to a world-class drama school. Founded by Jehan Manekshaw and Tasneem Fatehi’s Theatre Professionals,

The DSM brought 18 faculty members together to train 16 Students in acting, theatre theory, and devising and direction. For the students, the process has been one of demanding rigour and commitment to training, where they are learning to be actor-creator-entrepreneurs.

They have been taught by a faculty who have been trained from institutions across the world, and are all active practitioners of theatre, both contemporary and traditional.

Now, they embark on the next stage of their development: the creation of two plays: in a production process that is designed to be on par with final year productions at the best Drama Schools in the world.
