About Bhaijaanz in Shirley Rajan Road, Mumbai

Restaurant based on Salman Khan’s theme from the interior to the food and yes all that he is crazy about from cycles to bikes and all his looks till today are part of BhaijaanZ.


When you talk about Bandra, you connect to Salman Khan. When you talk about cycles, you relate to the actor, bikes you relate to the actor, Indian food like biryani, you say Salman loves it. To have the complete experience of the super hero, the best place to visit is Bhaijaanz. Yes Bhaijaanz, as the name that connects direct to the Bhaijaan of the bollywood.

The first thing the partners of the restaurant, Rahul Kanal, Tabrez Shaikh (Chef back from London), Sohail Siddique, Govind Narayan, Kursheed Khan and Zafar Sayed Yusuf, thought to go with Salam is one they all are big Khan fan and second "Salman Khan is Bandra and Bandra is Salman.
“He is a Bandraite; we are all Bandraites. We also went to St Stanislaus School like him. So we thought, why not build a tribute to Bhaijaan," says 28-year-old Rahul Kanal.
How and why Bhaijaanz
While all the friends were having a talk over coming up with something, they came up with planning something on the actor. Most of them belong to Bandra, all are Salman Khan fan, all have had a meet with him in some or the other way and atlast all came to a restaurant on the actor’s theme. When they thought of the name, they came up with Bhaijaanz, as Salman is the Bhaijaan for all of them and the bollywood. They thought about it on February 9 and they are all sort to launch it onMarch 9.

Menu
While all took charge of the theme, while 33-year-old Tabrez, a former sous chef at the Radisson in London was in charge of the menu. He said, “We wanted all that Salman loves to be on the menu and dishes dedicated to him too. So we have Bhai's favourites - liberally buttered brun, haleem, paya and his mother's special Hyderabadi kachche gosht ki dum biryani were added to the menu. You'll find dole-shole mutton kebabs as a tribute to his biceps, Dabangg biryani, Ready Steady dal makhani, and Get your Kick with Lahori nallinihari.”

Interior looks
As you enter the eatery, various dialogues from Khan's movies starting from- Maine ek bar commitment de di, toh main khud ki bhi nahin suntan, Mujhpar eik ehsan karna ki mujh par koi ehsan na karna, Dosti ka ek oosul hain madam no sorry no thank you- all this would greet you.
When you get inside you see a 4 by 3 being Super Human painting and small A-5 size sketches with all his different looks till today in various movies.
The 1st floor is made to look like the balcony of his Galaxy Apartments home on Bandstand, where the Bhaijaan reside.
For decor details, Sohail Siddhique said, "Slaman always loved bikes and bicycles, artist Tyrell Walladres made us tables from cycle sprockets, and light fixtures with cycle chains. We have made bottles made out of keys, looking like a barcardi bottle."

There is a painting of him as The Hulk because "we see him as a superhero," says Zaffar Sayed Yusuf. There is another painting of 7 by 2 and half Just chill !! … The paintings were commissioned to Rohan Joglekar.

Another corner will have a screen with a live-feed of the actor's Twitter and Facebook updates.
Another partner Kursheed Khan, a die-hard Salman fan, who even has his bike number dedicated to the actor’s birth date 27-12 said, “A friend with a special talent for curating currency notes with particular serial numbers was enlisted for procuring notes whose serial numbers coincide with release dates of the actor's movies. They have over 150 of these which are being framed.

Kanal added, "We want Bhai to come here and loves it, "He likes Moroccan theme and navy blue colour and hence we have the restaurant on the complete Morroccan and the navy blue theme. We want that everyone who comes here to feel that they are here with the actor and gets his feel.”
The restaurant is all set to open on March 9 2015.
