About Veera Venkatesha in CARSTREET, Mangalore

Sri Venkatramana Temple of Mangalore is one of the most reputed and popular temples in the Konkan region (western coast) of India, with Lord Sri Veera Venkatesha (incarnation of Lord Vishnu) as its supreme deity, the temple has a glorious history of more than 300 years. It is one of the ancient and revered shrines of the coastal region, which attracts devotees from a wide spectrum of the society.

It is one temple where devotees from all corners of Mangalore visit in large numbers seeking the grace of Lord Sri Veera Venkatesha.

This beautiful temple is situated in Car Street, one of the prime location in Mangalore, which is also known as Temple Square (name derived from the geographical structure of the area). The temple belongs to the Goud Saraswath Brahmin (G.S.B) Community of the Hindus and is a GSB denomination temple. This temple is one among the 18 temple towns of GSB’s.

The rituals performed here follow Madhwa-Vaishnava principles. The temple is affiliated to Shree Kashi Math Samsthan and is efficiently guided by the divine blessings of H.H Shrimath Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji, Mathadhipati of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan.
