About South Regional Conference of ACBI 2014 in Center For Basic Sciences, Kasturba Medical College, Bejai, Mangalore

Manipal University started with the flagship Kasturba Medical College in 1953. It attained deemed university status in 1993 and is currently one among the top 100 universities among BRICS countries. Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, opened its portals in January 1953. A pioneering model of successful public - private partnership, KMC ranks among the top 25 medical colleges in the country today. The college offers post graduate training facilities leading to 29 degrees, diplomates and diplomas in medical sciences besides Ph. D. in 6 subjects and M. Sc (Medical) degrees in 5 subjects.

The Department of Biochemistry at KMC, Mangalore was established in the year 1977. The Master's program in Biochemistry was introduced in the year 1989. The department provides excellent opportunities for knowledge and innovation that are requisite for effective career development. The faculty are committed to diverse research programs and ensure the best education possible.

To keep pace with ever evolving developments, the department of Biochemistry, KMC Mangalore, is proud to host the "South Regional Conference of the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India - 2014", on 22nd & 23rd May, 2014, with the central theme, "Surging ahead with quality, research and diagnostics". Eminent personalities in the field of academics, research and diagnostics have been invited to share their expertise.
