OM ANUGRAH YATRA
A SPIRITUAL RAIL JOURNEY WITH H.H. SRI SRI RAVI SHANKAR JI IN UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA

“I do not desire to possess the powers to rule any kingdom, neither do I desire of heavenly pleasures, rebirth nor moksh. In fact, I desire and pray to give me the strength and ability to eliminate the miseries of the suffering and grieving human beings.” - Upanishad

Inspired by Seva bhav (devotion to selfless service) our Param Pujya Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji sets out on his second Anugraha Yatra by rail through towns of Uttar Pradesh. Anugrah means “grace” or blessing. The purpose of the journey is to touch people’s lives along the way with His divine grace and spread His divine wisdom and spiritual knowledge along with His universal message of Love, Peace and Harmony in the largest and most populated state of India - Uttar Pradesh.

This grand rail journey in UP has been scheduled by Gurudev starting from Allahabad, also known as Prayagraj, the second oldest city of India. On this journey Sri Sri will visit several small towns to meet people living in rural areas too giving them divine knowledge and blessing them with His divine presence in Satsang. This will also help spread spirituality and The Art of Living programmes to the masses.

Gurudev’s first Anugrah Yatra went through the heart of Andhra Pradesh in February 2014 and travellers and devotees experienced 4 days of bliss along the way in Gurudev’s divine presence.

On the Om Anugrah Yatra in 2018, Gurudev will be accompanied by over 1200 devotees on this divine journey with stops at many sacred spots in Uttar Pradesh.

On 26th of February, 2018 the travellers will assemble in Allahabad and will have the great fortune of a Holy Dip at Sangam – the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati rivers. This will be followed by a Maha-Puja on the 27th morning in Gurudev’s presence.

This special train will arrive on the 27th evening at Sarnath – the place where Buddhism was founded in around 528BC and the travellers will be treated to a sightseeing trip here before Gurudev’s Maha-satsang in this city which is adjoining Varanasi - among the world’s oldest and holiest cities.

On the 28th the special train will reach Gorakhpur – a city in the Buddhist midland where again there will be a Maha-satsang with Gurudev after a bit of sightseeing in the city.

On 1st March, the last leg of the journey, the travellers will visit Sravasti – a Buddhist city where Buddha spent 24 years during the rainy months, where travellers will get to feel divine energy. The journey will culminate in Lucknow – a city named after Lakshmana, a hero of the ancient Ramayana. Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, along with Agra and Varanasi is in the official tourist circuit of the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh known as the Uttar Pradesh Heritage Arc. On the 1st evening there will be a Maha-satsang with Gurudev here and a very large number of people are expected to attend this.

Besides the Maha-satsangs there will be Darshans at railway stations on the way at Madhosingh near Mirzapur, Mau, Deoria, Balrampur and Gonda.

The travellers will stay overnight at hotels in Allahabad, Varanasi and Gorakhpur and shall be served all meals including sattvik snacks in the train.

Elaborate arrangements for this event are already in progress and the efficient Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is one of the organisers along with The Art of Living's VVKI Apex Body of UP East.
