About Art for Cause in Near DRDO, Leh

Art For Cause is a charitable trust registered in 2013 with the motive of using art as a tool for the development of various communities. Since last year the trust has started working for the welfare and development of youth by providing them free education in the field of arts and also by financially supporting them.


Art For Cause uses various art fields such as photography, documentary, painting etc. to highlight various issue prevailing in the society. The trust aims at uniting the artist from all over the world to come foreword and provide some time from their daily routine for the development of the society and youth through the help of their creative minds and arts.

Art for Cause has been working with the aim of providing platform to the kids in various remote parts of India including refugee camps like Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Tawang (Indo-Tibet Border).

Projects Undertaken:

1. Free Photography & Film Making Classes at Sambhota Tibetan School for one year (2013-2014)

2. Beyond Education: A documentary film on Tibetan schooling system in exile. (Released in 2013)

3. Kicking Boundaries: A feature length documentary on Tibet Women's Football Team ( Released awaited in 2014)

4. We are United: A global fusion music album by various artists across the globe to support Tibet women's Football Team (Released in 2014)

5. My Name Is Pema (2014): A short Conversation with 13 year old girl from Ladakh about her harsh life on being a girl child, it is also a life time project to support her through out her life. (Screening Worldwide)

6. Tawang Autumn Camp (7th Sep-17th Sep 2014)
The was organised in the remote and the most sensitive area of India which provided free workshops on art& craft, photography, performing arts, yoga & meditation, creative writing, health care and also free medical camp was organised, The camp catered more than 550 kids including 7 schools in the valley and various villages for free medical services.

7. Birthday Joys (Long Term Project):
Under this we try to bring the happiness in the lives of various under privileged kids by celebrating their birthdays which every child deserves.

8. Reunite (Upcoming, Dec 2014):
We are trying to reunite a 9 year old boy who stays 3000 KM away from his family and has not seen them for last 2 years and is also suffering from depression and falling sickness.

9. I am photographer (Long term project):
We have discovered a 13 year old tribal boy from Tawang valley who has extraordinary skills in photography, we have promised him to provide extensive internship programme in photography in New Delhi under Irshal Ishu during his summer vacations every year. We have also promised him to hold his solo exhibition in New Delhi. Recently Lobsang was Facilitated as the youngest photographer in Arunachal Pradesh, where earlier he use to do child labour during his holidays.

10. One Child One Year (Long Term Project):
Under this initiative every year one deserving student after is graduation from school will be selected by irshal Ishu to provide him with one year free training in photography and film making under his wings. The student will travel with Ishu on all his projects, camps and shoots.

Tenzin Wangchuk from Dharamshala is has been selected for the year 2014-15.
