Ladakh ‘little Tibet’ or the land of many passes, is a remote place of India . The Indus valley is the Ladakhi heartland . Which is mostly populated because of its fertility and good for irrigation . The inhabitants of Ladakh derive from three basic group- the Dards, originally Aryans from the upper Indus valleys and the Gilgit area ; the Chang-pas or the Nomads of Mongolian descent who come to Ladakh from Tibet and the Mons, of Indo-Iranian stock from northern India .
