About Parvati Valley in Kullu, Kulu
‘Parvati Valley’ is one of the most important valleys of Himachal Pradesh and is situated in the northern side of it. It forms a confluence with the River Beas, and the valley runs eastwards through a steep sided valley from the town of Bhuntar.Pin Parvati valley holds within its ensemble the famous peaks of ‘Himachal’ called ‘Pin Parvati Peak’. Pin Valley is formed by the Pin river, which rises on the eastern slopes of Pin- Parvati Pass (3500m.) and meets the Spiti river exactly opposite Lingti village. On the way the Parahio Nala near Pokchung joins it. Parahio valley has several peaks and glaciers and it has been declared as a Nationaf Park.
From Pin valley one can cross to the Kullu valley over Pin Parvati Pass; and to the district of Kinnaur via ‘shadarof Pass (5022m.) or Tarikhango Pass BAWA PASS
At Thakur Kuan (3560m), the Parvati Valley meets the valley of Dibibokri Nal, which climbs towards the Northeast to the Dibibokri Glacier and Dibibokri Pyramid (6400m). The area is characterised by abundant alpine flowers and rocky outcrops glittering with mica. Beyond Thakur Kuan, the Parvati Valley ascends gradually to Pandupul (Pandu Pul) where two natural, rock bridges cross the Parvati River and a southern tributary. According to legend, these bridges were created by the massive strength of the mythological Pandava brothers.
Nomadier offers the ‘Pin Parvati Trek’ as it is supposed to be done. Our trek is of 13 nights and 14 days and the best time to do it is from June to September. The level of endurance is high, but that is what makes this trek to be one of the most amazing experiences of your life.
