The Telegraph’s Careergraph was reborn as YOU on June 13. While the revamp had been planned for sometime, the name (the Chief Editor’s idea) set the tone for the supplement.

The fortnightly higher education supplement doesn’t limit itself to dispensing career advice but also has a hoard of lifestyle tips – ranging from quick recipes for those staying away from home to dressing well on a budget to self-defence techniques for girls. The tag 'Your campus buddy' seems to have struck a resonance with college students; the supplement was not seen to be lecturing students from a podium.

YOU has some sections that feature student contributions. These interactive features have been a hit, judging by our overflowing inbox. Among them is the debate 'Your Voice', where students take positions on topics 'Arranged marriages have lost their relevance today' or 'Social media are actually making people unsociable' and send in their views. We get over 200 emails every issue on this. Our Career Counselor Shivani gets roughly 150 emails every issue.
Ask Ritu is a new column in which actress Rituparna Sengupta answers relationship queries from YOU readers. This has also struck a chord with thousands of our readers.

For our Picture Perfect section, we receive contributions from campuses as far away as in the US and Singapore.

Our 'postcard from an Indian student studying abroad' has struck a chord, because it talks about how to win a scholarship; gives you an insight into life on a foreign campus and how to make student life an adventure.

YOU is the first step towards crowdsourcing stories (a concept popularised by YouTube) – students are suggesting topics we should cover, writing stories and even pointing out to us what we've missed in our stories. In other words, they are getting more involved in the process of producing the supplement.
We have been getting an overwhelming response -- from Shillong to Guwahati to Bhubaneswar to Bhagalpur to Ranchi to Pune to Manipal. We weren’t even aware that we had readers that far afield!
