On the 8th May 2013 – Drikshya Charitable Society was founded by 11 people and now running its operations in main cities of India; Cochin, in the state of Kerala, and Chennai, in the state of Tamil Nadu. Drikshya was initiated by students brought up here in Dubai and few others who studied in India in a luxurious atmosphere in contrast to their counterparts in India, suffering a forced existence of poverty, hunger and pain ultimately leading to anti-social activities. They wanted to make a difference, bring a change to the sad truth. They realized that true pleasure of living is always in spreading joy and what could give more happiness than bringing smiles to the less fortunate children? They came across with a unique perspective of giving these kids a chance to study in a good curriculum boarding school marinated with security, moral support and other extra-curricular activities not just a day scholar. This would also enhance their learning skills and bring out the hidden talent of these young children. Thus formed the idea of Drikshya, to help these children and pull them out of their unfortunate existence by supporting them in their struggle of survival.
