AIR Kochi , the first FM radio station in Kerala was started in 1989. Though classified as a Local Radio Station, it is on air for 16hrs 10mts daily from 5.50am to 11pm with only one hour off from 4pm to 5pm. It has a wide reach with a variety of programmes designed for the listeners of all walks of life and in addition to its primary programme zone Ernakulam, its signals cover almost all the districts of central Kerala and far beyond. Presently Kochi AIR Complex situated at Thrikkakkara houses AIR FM LRS-102.3, AIR FM RAINBOW 107.5, and Prasar Bharati Marketing Division(Branch Office).
The station has won many awards & merit certificates for broadcasting in various categories at local and national levels and is always exploring new avenues of public service broadcasting keeping the right blend of information. education and entertainment
