About TCC Tashi Jong in Tashi Jong, Taragarh, Kangra

Tashi Jong is a small Tibetan Settlement in Himachal Pradesh, it was established in 1968 by H.E. 8th Khamtrul Rinpoche for the preservation of the Tibetan arts, culture heritage and precious Buddha dharma and consist of artisan of the Khampagar Monastic Institute and lay community who produce natural and chemical dye carpets, for the maintenance of the community Kindergarten, Pre-Primary School and dispensary. It is a self sustain and vibrant community.

Tashi Jong is 1st village in the state of Himachal Pradesh to be declared Tobacco free village by state Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Tse-chu Lama Dance festival which has a history of 300 years of uninterrupted performance.

Tashi Jong is also know for it's yogis whose lineage can be trace back to Milarepa, famous Tibetan yogi.

Tashi Jong office which co-ordinates the activites of Tibetan Craft Community, Khampagar Monastery, Dorzong Monastic Institute, Dolma Lhakhang and Dongyu Gatsel Ling Nunnery is in a dilapidated conditions. Ground floor of the building is Handicraft center and it also house our handicraft showroom. Where we showcase and sell our handicraft products.
