Few institutions could boast of such meteoric rise in the first 50 years of its existence as ours. Call it revolution or call it renaissance. We have done it. Smt. Jasodamoyee Devi's dream of setting up an ideal educational institution, and famous Dr. Sahana's dedication in translating them into reality bore fruit as a tiny primary school in tiled shade which soon metamorphosed into a four premier institution:
a) Sibpur Jasodamoyee Vidyalaya
b) Sibpur Jasodamoyee Girl's High School
c) Jasodamoyee Vidyalaya - Junior Basic (Unit - 1)
d) Jasodamoyee Vidyalaya - Junior Basic (Unit - 2)
If the post- Sahana days spelt stagnation, Sibpur Jasodamoyee Vidyalaya soon bounced back with vengeance. The old dilapidated four - storied building, which hardly had got a single face-lift in 40 years got a thorough renovation and fresh paint. The crumbling tiled shed made way for parallel multi-storied block. The broken boundary walls, the ramshackle gate at the entrance, the poor apology for a playground soon became things of past. Winds of change swept the academic too as the school began to turn out well-groomed batches of young boys with academic performances to reckon with. The authorities upgraded the school to the Higher-secondary level. Close on the heels of the Humanities group, came the came the commerce and then Science streams. The number of new subjects introduced rose to a staggering 11. Not more than eight additional posts of teachers and tow-lab assistants were sanctioned in the past five years. Thanks to the generous grants received by the school from Sarba Siksha Mission and MPlads, BEUP and the several noble -hearted donors and Cognizant Technology Solutions and Honey-well industries, not speak of the kind patronage received from the Ex-student, guardians and ell-wishers the school now has robust infrastructure including four laboratories, plus a computer lab a seminar hall and a resourceful library complete with a well-equipped reading room.
On the occasion of Golden Jubilee of this august institution, we thank all the noble souls who stood by us in this awesome journey on the path of development. We look ahead to their continued patronage in helping us materialize our future schemes.
