The Assam Socio-Economic Health Association abbreviated as “ASHA” incorporated as Welfare & Development Organization under the Societies Registration Act. 1860. Since inception in 1994, ASHA has been predominantly a Non-profit, non-partisan & non-governmental organization, which derives its mandate from constitution and association. The Organization “ASHA” completed eventful decades by advocating constructive social change and development process and implementing value-based strategic interventions in the direction of community empowerment and capacity building in sustainable manner. Since its inception, ASHA has been working with vulnerable people advocating social commitment with people oriented planning and action for lasting social change.

ASHA strongly beliefs social capacity building as an effective approach for implementation of various welfare and development related schemes/ projects for the benefit of community in addressing their growth and development related needs. The organization plays the role of a channel partner for social capacity building by working on community mobilization and community participation. The organization works on empowering the community by sensitizing the community of its available and potential resources for its optimum and judicious utilization.

During the last 13 years, ASHA has taken up measures to strengthen deprived & marginalized people. Most of the activities of ASHA are based on Heath care & service for Child, Woman & needy people, Social welfare & development, Livelihood promotion, Human resource development etc. Professionalism in Social Work is the helping factor for ASHA to serve the People, Society and Nation. Humanitarian, Social minded dedicated Executive member, Staff and Volunteer are another main strength of the organization. All Members of the Advisory Board, Planning & Budget Committee, and Executive Body are the strong strength & power of ASHA.
