About NANMA Foundation in C/o Continental Holdings, Ernakulam

Nanma is a concept primarily developed from Mahatma Gandhi’s doctrine of Trusteeship. It is a social movement dedicated to spread compassion and goodness among the needy members of our society.
There are a lot of children who need support to be aware of their own inner talents and for strategies to enhance their own capabilities. On the other hand there are other people who are successful in their careers and lives and are still interested in passing on their rich experiences to the needy students.
‘Nanma’ is trying to bridge this gap by creating a common platform of poor and needy students and those who are willing to provide a helping hand to them.
This project of ‘Nanma’ is called CEEP (Capability Exploration and Enabling Programme). CEEP attempts to create self awareness among the selected students of their inner potential, identifying and removing impediments in exploring their inner potential and developing various skills like life skill, language skill logical and reasoning skill etc.

The beneficiaries of this project are brilliant students from economically socially and educationally constrained families studying in Government and Government Aided schools. Nanma foundation is having centers in Cochin, Perumbavoor, Thrissur, Tirur, Malappuram and Calicut.

Eminent persons like Prof.P.C.Thomas, Thrissur, Sri.P.Vijayan IPS, Commissioner of Police, Thrissur, Dr.Jayan, Cochin Refineries, Dr. Indira Rajan, Chairperson, Minerva Education Trust, Shri.T.K.Jose IAS, Shri.Sethuraman IPS, Shri.Sparjan Kumar IPS, Prof.Hafiz Muhammed, Shri.V.K.Muhammed Asharaf, Shri.P.V.Abdul Wahab, Dr.Suresh Kumar, IPM, Dr.Ramachandran and eminent organizations like BPCL -Kochi Refinery, Geojit Financial Services Ltd., K.R.Bakery etc are also closely associated with implementation of this project.

For the complete attainment of the objectives of Nanma, Nanma is setting up a Learning Centre at Puthoormadam, Calicut. The learning centre will be a resource centre for the students which enable them to dream and make their dreams come true. The learning centre will act as:
The central office for administration:
The CEEP project is being carried out at 7 different units in Kerala. The learning centre will act as the central office for administrating and coordinating the activities of all these units.
A library of reference books.
The Nanma learning centre will be equipped with a library of international standard. Books providing information on a variety of areas like History, Geography, Political Science, Civics, Mathematical ability, Reasoning, Competitive examinations and a number of Journals and Magazines will be available.
As an E- learning centre
The learning centre is also equipped with computers with internet facility, so that the children could be exposed to the day to day updated in knowledge and possibilities of E-learning facilities could be explored.
A place for faculty interaction.
The CEEP Project will attain its targets only if the faculty members interact among themselves, fruitfully. The learning centre acts as a place for faculty interaction where the faculty could meet discuss their experiences and learn from each other.
An Alma mater for all Nanma students.
So far more than 3000 students have benefitted out of this project. All these students have been trained in the concept of Nanma with the key focus on realizing and optimizing their potential. They are currently under the 7 different units organized by patron Sponsors.
Uniformity of Content and methodology has been an area of concern .Hence CEEP is planning to build up a more structured platform and spread across Kerala. The students benefitting from Nanma programme should develop a feeling of ownership in them. To realize this objective the importance of a common resource centre cannot be overlooked any longer. The learning centre which is nearing completion will act as a common meeting point for all the Nanma students, to come back to, at any point of time and pass on their learning and experiences.
