About Deeps (Development Education and Environment Protection Society) in DEEPS, B.D.O office road, Pennagaram, Dharmapuri

During the dusk of eighties disillusioned with social and political structure of society , distressed with the poor living conditions of fellow brethren, a like minded persons including its chief functionary joined informally to address social issues affecting the rural poor . Eventually they formed a society and registered it under the societies Registration Act of Tn in 1988. Initially it was functioning more of a social action worked in Dindigul District until 1993.It succeeded in addressing and rectifying social problems by organizing youth and giving them moral guidance . In course of its action it recognized the importance of empowering women and protecting children, the most neglected group in society. In later part of Nineties it moved to Sanarpatti block of Dindigul District and Pennagaram, Nallampalli &Palacode blocks of Dharmapuri District to work for emancipation of women.
