About Bachpan Banao in opposite to water tank, hudco colony, teknar road, awarabhata, Dantewada

Bachpan Banao is a youth organization driven by the values of humanity, participation, collaboration and respect for all leading towards an inclusive society. We work in Dantewada, the tribal district of Chhattisgarh which has been affected by the left-wing extremism since a decade. One of the biggest causality has been the kids and their education. Believing in Mahatma Gandhi philosophy of community taking ownership of its institutions we work toward empowering the public education system in the tribal area.
As part of the program we are working with stakeholders in the education space to bring in the quality improvement in the education delivery. Our key programs have been:
•Model School Development through Bachpan Banao Fellowship
•Community Empowerment and participation by strengthening School Management Committees
•Promoting science education
•Working with the government stakeholders (teachers, administrative officers, DIET )toward improvement in process adherence, monitoring and capacity building.
Our approach to all the programs has been facilitation instead of authoritative or instructional. The idea is to see the issues in schools from the eyes of the local stakeholders in Dantewada and then based on the available competencies and resources design customized solutions for the same.
