The Annual Dance Show:

In order to showcase the talents of its young dancers, Studio for Dance presents an annual production – ‘Origin’. Few of the highlights of past shows are listed below
An Evening to Remember: Chennai’s audience enjoyed a display of popular dance numbers featuring styles such as Hip-hop, Jazz, Modern, & Theatre dance by Studio for Dance’s young talented students which were an audio-visual feast for their senses. The adults presented ‘Chicago’ the musical which was the grand highlight of the show.

The Phantom of the Opera: An original theater performance showcasing, ‘The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux’ was staged at Music academy. The city of Chennai was exposed to an array of scintillating entertainment that made this a memorable evening.

The Elements: Modern Dance was a unique and new style that was gaining popularity throughout the world. Studio for Dance made it as the main focus of this show. Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Life, the 5 elements were taken as the theme for the show.

The Seasons: Using the style of Modern Jazz dance, the studio went on to stage its next show with the theme being ‘Seasons’. The heat of summer and the cold of the winter were displayed through an array of emotions.

The Reflection of Imagination: The love for dance pulled people of Chennai to Chinmaya Heritage Center for an evening packed with graceful performances in various dance forms viz. Jazz, Hip – hop, Modern, Free style & Bollywood. The ‘Masked Hip-hop battle’ was the first of its kind in the city of Chennai. The experimental fusion dance consisting of various styles such as contemporary by our artistic director Mr. Jeethandra , Kathak by Vidya Eashwaran & Bhartanatyam by Priya Murle was the highlight of the evening.
