About House of Hope in House no 1043, sector 68, Mohali, Chandigarh

House of Hope was set up initially as a 'Social and Educational Project' to take some of these poor children 'off the streets' and provide a nutritious snack and basic learning for them in a safe environment; while their parents work from dawn until dusk, to feed their family, with at least one meal a day.The majority of these slum children are responsible for their younger siblings daily care, and have no where to go but the streets! This is widespread in rural India.

From a windowless garage within just two years a beautiful new building was acquired, consisting of three self contained flats, each having a shower-room, kitchen and three additional classrooms. The staff are accommodated here and so are available to the children throughout the day.
In just five years; upwards of ninety-five children have achieved learning, enabling them to enter the main stream education system at their age group level! They come back to House of Hope in the evenings for extra tuition and access to Computer, books, and other educational aids and a nutritious meal for all.
They also enjoy the Friday Hope Club with lots of music, educational and recreational dvd's, outdoor games.friendships are made and life issues are discussed.

Day Care for the 1-4 year olds has begun with fourteen little ones being given personal care, breakfast and lunch and fun learning, with art, music and dance.

Medical Provision. There have been several 'Health Clinics' run by our trained doctors, nurses and volunteers for families and children with an emphasis on prevention of illness and disease. Educational classes to provide instruction on how to access essential vaccines ( available from the Indian Government) for prevention of Cholera and such like and general health awareness for good hygiene for health and nutrition within their local limits.
Training is available also to staff to keep up to date and improve their skills.

At the core of all that the staff do at House of Hope, is the most important aspect of the work where by their lives they show the love of Jesus in action and endeavour to introduce the children and their families God's unconditional love for them. To teach them how valuable they are in God's eyes and how by handing over their lives to Jesus they can have freedom from sin,peace, joy and fulfilment everyday of their lives.
