University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development introduced a Five year Integrated Course in B Sc and M Sc in Fashion and Lifestyle Technology in July 2007. This course readies professionals for jobs in the Industry, Corporate, and Academia as also to start up a Private Enterprise or Venture. Rigorous training is imparted to the students in areas spanning over all aspects of the Fashion Industry. The pedagogy at University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development incorporates a nurturing environment which is a cohesive amalgamation of modern and conventional learning techniques. The methodology adopted gives inputs in core functional areas along with inter-disciplinary fields by problem solving methods. Fashion Journalism and Photography, Fashion Enterprise Management and Supply Chain, Quality Control, Cost and Logistics are some of the disciplines they are acquainted with during the course. The students are trained to be Fashion Illustrators, Designers, Pattern and Product Developers and are prepared to cater to the fast moving Fashion Industry in every way. Knowledge and Application of Textile and Computer Technology enable them to move with the flow of time. Students are given an opportunity to organize Fashion Shows and Exhibitions. They are exposed to In-House Training on state-of-art equipment and Industrial Experience, Research and Craft Surveys. The mode of instruction is highly student-centered and is through Projects, Seminars, Workshops, Educational Tours and Exhibitions. The evaluation system is a continuous assessment throughout the semester by way of assignments, projects, internships, and presentations. Their deep understanding and exposure in vast areas helps them fit into the Niche' Market as well as in the Mass Market of Fashion Makers. The aim is to incorporate Lifestyle Management in Professional and Personal life of every student and to provide the institution a continuous feedback on the performance and development of all the pass outs
