Department of Agriculture commenced E-Krishi project in 2013, wherein the farmers of Goa were registered and smart cards provided to over 20,000 farmers. the documents provided by the farmers are digitized and stored centrally on a server and made available to all the users for authentication. This digitization has helped the farmer as he now only quotes the unique number instead of submitting documents every time he submits an application.
3 services were then linked to the Krishi Card and the entire workflows for these services are processed online by the departmental staff on custom developed software. This has led to speedy disposal of subsidy applications and allows tracking of their application by the applicant farmers.
Based on the success of e-krishi project, the department is now implementing a major e-governance project wherein all the 65 services offered will be processed via online mode.
