Sfurna Designs, an architecture, interior, landscape, urban, product design firm was established in 1995 by Architect Kalapi & Maitri Buch.

Ideology of Sfurna Designs

The word ‘Sfurna’ means ‘that which comes from within’. Respecting ‘the intuition’, we strive to design & build original, inspirational & timeless environs believing that it is our responsibility to glorify our profession by professing & implementing values, idealism & ideologies. As designers, it’s our prerogative to have ‘Art’ as an utmost integral part of Design with innovation in approach to the design, material & space realized through the use of natural resources of natural light, wind & views valuing local material, culture, art & craft & amalgamating it with the present. Deciphering the philosophy of the client through ‘mind sketch’ & giving an indigenous design concept & eventually design for Human safety, Human Need & Human comfort with 3R’s of Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.


Other Initiative

With an aim to make an atmosphere of design in their city & bring awareness about art & architecture they initiated the ‘Institute of Indian Interior Designers’ Bharuch Centre in 2009 & founded Sfurna Interior Design School in 2015.


Initiator

Architect Kalapi Buch did his architecture from APIED, Vallabh Vidyanagar & started his practice in his hometown of Ankleshwar in the year 1995. Further was joined in 2003 by His wife, Architect Maitri Buch who did her architecture from CEPT, Ahmedabad. They have designed individual bungalows, multi-dwelling units, housing societies, nursery schools, interiors of retail spaces like home theater demo room, numerous cloth & mobile showrooms, salons; workspaces, recreational spaces like gym, spa, food zones besides the residential interiors in different cities of India & internationally too. In past, they have been visiting faculties to numerous institutions. Besides they are called upon by reputed institutions as jurors like NID, APIED, SCET, IPSA, SDPS Women’s College, VDA, etc. They also have conducted students workshop on the subject like ‘My Design-My Reflection’ ‘Human Behaviour & Space’ & ‘Muzitecture’. They have been as a guide to many project & research thesis both.
