Yashaswini Swavalambana Trust is a Vocational Center located near Bannerghatta, Bangalore providing training and employment to differently abled individuals.
Founded in the year 2010, YST is a registered public charitable trust. Yashaswini Swavalambana Trust was born out of F.A.M.E India’s (Foundation for Action Motivation and Empowerment) endeavour to enable the physically and intellectually challenged students passing out of school to lead a life of dignity and self reliance. It was started as a simple “After School Apprentice” Program and it is now a pioneering base for progression and integration of the students into the mainstream work-force.
Yashaswini Swavalambana Trust apart from engaging people with special needs also employ parents, siblings and care givers thus, providing opportunities to the whole family. We also incubate and empower parents to carry on the vocations at home and become entrepreneurs in their way.

AIM OF THE TRUST:

“To enable the differently abled to lead a life of dignity, self worth and make them feel self reliant”.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRUST:
“To train and optimize the potentials of individuals with special needs and help them lead a life of dignity an self-reliance”
“To economically empower individuals with disabilities above 18years of age”
“To increase awareness level and sensitize the public of various social aspects and inclusiveness of the differently-abled individuals in the society”

WHY YASHASWINI SWAVALAMBANA?

After completion of vocational training in a special school, the parents of the differently abled individuals face the biggest challenge which is, “WHAT NEXT?”As individuals with special need age, their parents grow older too. This makes it difficult for the ageing parents to take care of them. Very minimal percentage of such individuals get employed after their training which leaves them ill – prepared to face challenges in the real world.
At YST, we provide rehabilitation for the differently abled individuals by engaging them in vocational based programs. They receive training on vocations depending upon the individual’s skill pattern for the vocation. Training is imparted over a period of 3 months to a year. On completion of their training period, the differently abled individual also earn a stipend for the work done, thus empowering them to live a productive and a fulfilling life.
