Grameen Koota provides financial services to women from poor and low income households. It offers income generation, home improvement, emergency, education, family welfare and home construction loans, provides life and healthcare insurance products and pension schemes. It also conducts regular social awareness campaigns for women customers on financial literacy, social and health issues. Founded in 1999, Grameen Koota is present in five states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It has been awarded the industry's top award "Microfinance Organization of the Year 2015" and re-certified by Smart Campaign for having met all the client protection principles. It is also one of the few MFIs to have been awarded with Truelift Certification of ‘Achiever’s level’ and Social Rating of ∑α for its commitment on social performance and pro-poor business. Grameen Koota has been accorded a top grade rating of ‘mfR1’ by CRISIL, and a high credit rating of ‘A-‘ by ICRA.
