Dayananda Sagar University was founded in 1960’s by Late Shri R. Dayananda Sagar who had a great vision: Education for all sections of society. He set up the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust (MGVP); which started as a one-college campus. Following the footsteps of Shri R. Dayananda Sagar, the University is led by our second-generation visionaries Dr. D. Hemachandra Sagar, MBBS, MS - Chancellor and Dr. D. Premachandra Sagar, MBBS - Pro Chancellor.

Today, the university has 5 campuses across Bangalore, India with more than 17000 students from India and 29 other countries, more than 1000 teaching faculty and 164 labs for 16 branches.

With a brilliant and dynamic teaching staff, our students are given a challenging academic ecosystem with well-equipped laboratories, excellent libraries with Wi-Fi and computer networking facilities, research forums, Innovation labs and recreational needs for both local and international students. Also, DSU – Innovation Campus has a start-up village that can accommodate of 200 enterprises equipped with all support and facilities that can transform our student’s idea to an innovation.

DSU is an active participant of sponsoring agencies in research Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Vision Group in the Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Electronics & Information Technology.
