Food Blogger Association Bangalore (FBAB)

‘Food Blogger Association Bangalore (FBAB)’ is a platform for food-lovers who are not just interested in tasting good food, but are also keen on sharing their thoughts in their blogs. Since, its inception a year back in December 2014, there has been a steady inflow of members who want to be part of this group. We are proud to say that there are currently nearly 4000 members in this group and are rapidly growing.

This was initially a brainchild of ‘Chef BB’, which was strongly supported by ‘Naveen Suresh’. Later looking at the enthusiasm ‘Nameesh N Rajamane’, joined in as the 3rd musketeer. We 3 are the admins for the group and are managing all the activities happening across the group.

The biggest advantage of being part of this group is the freedom that each individual gets in sharing info related to food. It could be anything related to food like – New/Modified Food Recipes, Unique food at restaurant, Trials, Food Photography and others. Apart from this, I wanted to highlight few more things, which are quite unique to this group-
-Restaurants reach out asking for their help with promotion. We welcome the same by planning for food-tasting session. If not for this group, it would have been difficult also for the restaurateurs to reach out to the individual food reviews/bloggers.
-Unique platform to mingle with like-minded people who think about food. This is very hard in this fast paced world where everyone is quite with his or her day-to-day lives.
-It’s also about ‘Joy’ and ‘Fun’ talking about experiences from others, also sharing yours own.

We as a group have a policy of encouraging new foodies to join the group and also contribute. Infact, many new food lovers joining the group are invited for the Food Tasting session, making sure that they are welcomed.

The group currently is a mix of Food Bloggers, Reviewers and Critics. There are also ‘Restaurant Owners’, ‘Chefs’ and ‘PR Agents’ who are part of this group. We encourage anyone joining the group coz there is a foodie within each one of us. Let people feel at home will bring out the best in people.

FBAB group has become quite large now and it sure does become difficult to manage. We ADMINs, meet up on a regular basis to discuss on the strategy going forwards. If we unable to do so on a weekly basis, we atleast plan to meet up on a fortnight basis to review the activities within the group.

Apart from this there are few more things, which are unique to this group-
-Untold Stories
These are food stories shared by foodies, which have been memorable. Sharing the same to public forum lets everyone enjoy and appreciate.
-Chef Info
We share info related to Chefs part of restaurants. It’s a good encouragement for folks who work behind the scenes to present great food and also let us appreciate their work.
-Workshops
There are times when famous Chef come to our city and show off some of the culinary skills. We encourage members to join to the same. These Chefs would share some insight into various aspects of food, preparation, taste and others.
-Contests
This could be related to ‘Food Photography’, ‘Food Preparation’ and others.

Overall this is a wonderful group to be part of as there are more like-minded people who enjoy food rather than the calories consumed. It’s been a wonderful journey of 1 year and we are looking forward to go on & on.
